Lemon & Lime

She wore a bright yellow dress with a lime-green belt, and he could never get over how beautiful she looked.

“Why didn’t you just tell me you hated lemon meringue?” he asked. “Instead of pretending it was your favourite?”

Her eyes widened. She glanced at the uneaten pie on the table.

“Because I love you, of course,” she said. “I didn’t want you to feel bad…”

“Did you?” he murmured. That explanation was enough for him.
